WWII Tribute

The uniform was a perfect fit at age 18 and 90 years for Al Werner who again wore his Army uniform for the World War II Fashion Luncheon held by the Elizabeth Historical Society. Al served with the U. S. Army Air Corps as a mechanic aboard missions over Germany. The life-long Elizabeth Township resident proudly tells of dropping food supplies to the starving people in the Netherlands. Al will celebrate his 90th birthday in December by traveling with his sons to the National World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. He is married to Norma Werner, the wardrobe mistress of the historical society's vintage clothing collection.

The society looks forward to Al in his uniform at the spring edition of the World War II Fashion Luncheon at The Betsy Shoppes in Boston, Pa.

Seatings are at noon April 18. Reservations at $25 can be made by calling 412-751-6695.
